Has anyone made Unique Factories work continuously? Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Feb 13, Messages: Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Aug 4, Messages: First you say that unique goods were previously just called goods and could be imported by shops, now you're saying shops import regular goods in the absence of unique goods. The latter point is exactly what I've been saying all along! So are we finally clear on the subject that unique goods can't be imported? Shops can only import regular goods.

All things considered, this whole debate started with the notion of storing unique goods, which to me still seems pointless. They can be sold locally or exported for cash. Either way you make a profit, so storing them serves no purpose.

Glitcher , Oct 29, This discussion started when you couldnt see the point of storing unique goods in warehouses, I tried to explain why it is advantageous to do so. Commercial will import regular goods from outside if there are no regular goods available from zoneable industry or unique goods available from "DLC industries" If you have a warehouse of unique goods then commercial will use those if there are none coming direct from factories.

Warehouses act as a buffer to reduce the import by commercial of regular goods. Agree x 1. No, logistically that doesn't make sense. Filling a warehouse with unique goods takes time. During that time, shops will make requests for goods preferably unique, but regular otherwise and will import them from outside if necessary. So instead of stockpiling unique goods and wasting time, you could have delivered them right away or export them at a profit. So as I said, storing unique goods serves no purpose.

Respectfully Disagree x 2 Agree x 1. If you build new commercial and they need goods after all other commercial are satisfied?

If you have them in a warehouse they will use them rather than import. This discussion has run it's course. If you can't see my point of why warehouses help with the logistics then we just Have to disagree. I'm done. Have a good day. Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Nov 29, Messages: I suspect selling to commercial is a priority for unique factories.

If there's no local demand they will either use storage or export. I guess I can't make you understand. Unique goods are valuable, but only if they can be sold. Whether sold locally or exported for cash, there really is no point to keeping them in reserve. If you can't see that, you just can't grasp the supply chain. Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Apr 4, Messages: I tried to store unique goods, but it's pointless. As soon as something enters the warehouse, it gets forwarded to some commercial building.

I don't think I ever saw a higher value than "6" stored. Turjan , Oct 29, Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Oct 26, Messages: 2. Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Nov 2, Messages: 1. Ok, although it seems there is a heated discussion about, has this been addressed, and are there plans for a patch, or anything? The supply chain is a problem. Warehouses won't empty when commanded, and the order for materials is problematic. The shipyard is always shutting down with local warehoused supplies literally right next door.

It's a great addition, amid some frustration. I used all my resources for no profit this way. It costs loads to support exporting raw materials instead of crafting them into a special good for sale. I see there is a patch due out soon, does it address this? Love the new mechanics, by the way. Pretty neat! Fedex driver , Nov 2, Agree x 2. Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Feb 2, Messages: 2.

Promethian , Nov 2, Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Dec 28, Messages: 4. The system does not seem entirely intuitive. I think it's helpful to think of storage facilities as providing trucks more than it is about providing actual storage space which they do, but the trucks are really the important part. If all the trucks are constantly in use, it probably means you need more storage of that type, you need more efficient routes for your trucks, or both. Cymsdale , Nov 2, Agree x 4.

This would make placing warehouses key to production. Bappe , Nov 6, Blog Entries: 0 Joined: Feb 20, Messages: 4. I'd like someone to figure out raw input numbers for the various processor and factory buildings, so we can balance extractors with processors.

Just link the highway to your residential, separate factories along with commercial altogether. Provide pedestrian path for you citizens to walk over to the other side. Metro, airport, train, etc. And I'm running at 90k profit average, that's with all the monuments active.

At morning the profit will spike to kk. I'm not sure why they didn't look into this matter. It's so annoying as it is infuriating. You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content.

Outdoor living is a fast-growing trend—people are now eager to entertain, relax, eat, and even sleep in their outdoor spaces. Of course, along with this trend comes the need for decorating ideas—whether for a new patio, a three-season room, or a variety of other functional spaces. Design, in fact, is something that consumers take very seriously when it comes to their outdoor spaces. Sales of outdoor furniture with an indoor flair and designer look are steadily rising. As such, there is a real need to develop a line of products that lends itself well to a variety of environments—and to both residential and commercial applications.

This article is considered accurate for the current version of the game. The supply chain in Cities:Skylines involves the production, processing and selling of various forms of "stuff" and the necessary transportation to allow this to occur. The flow of cargo through a city is as important as the flow of people. In theory a city's supply chain can exist in complete isolation from the outside world, but in practice it is necessary to allow for exports and imports to deal with excesses and shortfalls of supply.

Factory system , system of manufacturing that began in the 18th century and is based on the concentration of industry into specialized—and often large—establishments. The system arose in the course of the Industrial Revolution. The factory system replaced the domestic system , in which individual workers used hand tools or simple machinery to fabricate goods in their own homes or in workshops attached to their homes. The use of waterpower and then the steam engine to mechanize processes such as cloth weaving in England in the second half of the 18th century marked the beginning of the factory system. This system was enhanced at the end of the 18th century by the introduction of interchangeable parts in the manufacture of muskets and, subsequently, other types of goods. Prior to this, each part of a musket or anything else assembled from multiple components had been individually shaped by a workman to fit with the other parts.
